Dev Pathik CEO |
Dev Pathik is descended from East Indian Leaders in the movement to gain India’s independence. In 1938 Dev’s father, Magan, was born in Gandhi’s ashram and delivered by Gandhi’s wife. At that time Magan’s family name was Shukla, a name that destined Magan and the rest of the family to live within the confines of the ancient Indian caste system. To free the family from this limiting system, Gandhi took it upon himself to give Magan Kumar the last name of Pathik “the traveler”- thereby renaming the entire family and allowing them to pursue dreams that would have otherwise been impossible.
This family history has shaped Dev’s career as a business development advisor and entrepreneur. Dev’s business endeavors have been entirely dedicated to the growth of organizations that promote extraordinary leadership, inclusion, and civil conversation. Dev’s work as the CEO of WMFDP is a vehicle to engage courageous leaders in the critical conversations related to diversity and the full engagement of employees and team members from all walks of life.
As an entrepreneur, Dev has grown and sold numerous businesses and he is widely regarded as a leader in the development of innovative training and development firms and leadership centers.
Dev can be reached at pathik@wmfdp.com.
Personal/Professional Philosophy: Extraordinary Leadership begins with a genuine desire to make the world a better place. The boldest of leaders do this across boundaries and they do not sit quietly in the face of injustice or intolerance.
A Favorite Book: The Gift: A collection of poems by Hafiz, Translated by Daniel Ladinski
A Favorite
Quote: "I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach me, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
— Henry David Thoreau
Lessons Learned: I have so much to learn and so little time to learn it in. Just being alive is an extraordinary gift.
