Dev Pathik, Business Advisor

WMFDP Founder: Dev PathikDev's extensive business endeavors are united by his dedication to growing organizations that promote extraordinary leadership, inclusion and civil conversation. Not surprising for a man whose father was born in Gandhi's ashram and was delivered by Gandhi's wife, and whose family were leaders in the movement to gain India's independence.

An energetic entrepreneur, Dev has grown and sold numerous businesses and is highly regarded as a leader in the creation of innovative training and in the development of firms and leadership centers. A former corporate trainer and Outward Bound instructor, he is gifted at educating, inspiring, rejuvenating and motivating teams and individuals, and helping them achieve their true potential for service and revenue. He has won numerous awards for his work as a coach and business development advisor.

As Business Advisor for White Men as Full Diversity Partners, he is committed to involving courageous leaders in critical conversations about diversity and fully engaging employees from all walks of life.

To free Dev's family from the confines of the rigid Indian caste system, Mahatma Gandhi himself gave Dev's father the new last name “Pathik,” which means “the traveler.” Dev Pathik has been faithful to his name with his widespread interests and wise contributions to business, to diversity, and to the evolving meaning of leadership.

Personal/Professional Philosophy: Extraordinary leadership begins with a genuine desire to make the world a better place. The boldest of leaders do this across boundaries and they do not sit quietly in the face of injustice or intolerance.

A Favorite Book: The Gift: A collection of poems by Hafiz translated by Daniel Ladinski

Lessons Learned: I have so much to learn and so little time to learn it in. Just being alive is an extraordinary gift.

A Favorite Quote

I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach me, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
